Choose text and audio independently
A film may have original audio with translated subtitles, a dubbed soundtrack, captions or some combination. Open the viewing edition's language menu and inspect the named tracks. The catalog's original-language filter is not a list of available translations.
Read from the distance where you watch
When supported, adjust text size, background and contrast for the actual screen. A phone setting can be too small on a television. Check a dialogue scene from the sofa rather than choosing solely from the settings preview.
When the words arrive at the wrong time
Notice whether video is also pausing. If both stop, address playback first. If only subtitles are early or late, try another supplied track or a timing setting when the player provides one. Different cuts can have different timing even when the title is familiar.
For Hindi, Arabic or another requested language
Identify the original production before comparing editions. A translated title does not establish a matching subtitle track. Use original-language browsing to find the production and the audio guide to distinguish originals from dubs.
